New Lynn Physiotherapy is an approved provider of the Careway Programme, which is a new ACC funded pilot programme that provides injured New Zealanders with better and faster access to great healthcare services.
Careway provides faster timeframes to assessment, treatment and surgery (if required) for spinal injuries, knee injuries and shoulder injuries.
A dedicated team of physiotherapist’s, sports physicians and orthopaedic surgeons will work with you to set goals and to design a care plan that meets your needs. While you are on the Careway pathway to recovery you will receive the care you need when you need it.
Who can access Careway?
- Patients with knee injuries involving the meniscus, ligaments or patella dislocations, that have not settled with 4 weeks of physiotherapy treatment.
- Patients with shoulder dislocations or rotator cuff tendon tears
- Lumbar spine disc injuries where leg pain is worse than back pain
How long does the programme take?
Patients remain under Careway programme until they meet the programme objectives and goals, which are related to regaining mobility and strength , returning to work or independence and achieving functional goals.
Time frames for completion vary and may last between 3 and 12 months.
How much does the programme cost?
The Careway programme is fully funded by ACC, so there is no cost for appointments with your physiotherapist, sports physician or orthopaedic surgeon.
There may be some small costs associated with materials such as braces and exercise equipment if required.
